Henry Rohwer and his wife Mathilda (Swendsen) Rohwer settled in Bloomfield as a pioneer family in 1896. He farmed on what is now the fairgrounds. They had a dairy farm and a dairy route business in Bloomfield and also had an ice route business.
They had five children: Mary C.(Frank Lenz); Caroline (Lena)(Fred Lamprecht); Eva M. (Otto H. Frahm); William (Bill)(Dora 1st wife and Irene 2nd wife); and John Albert (Gladis Good).
Henry Rohwer and his wife Mathilda (Lilly) Rohwer lived the remainder of their lives in Bloomfield.
Henry Rohwer died in 1935 and Mathilda died in 1946.
