DALLAS LINGO
Funeral services were held at Miller's chapel this (Thursday) afternoon for Dallas Lingo, 66, who passed away at his home five miles west of town Monday, Dec 31, at 11 p.m. Rev. Smith, pastor of the local Christian church conducted the services.
Dallas Lingo was born Jan. 22, 1863, on the old Coleman place near Loraine(sic) and about 20 miles from the ranch on which he passed away. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Lingo were pioneers. His mother crossed the plains in 1847 and his father in 1853. He was the oldest of a large family. He was married Jan. 1, 1889 to Amanda Richardson, at the James Hays' home near Franklin. They lived in the hills near Franklin for a number of years and for nearly 30 years he has lived on his ranch west of town. He was always interested in good roads and attended many meetings of road commissioners. He was a member of the local W.0.W. lodge.
He has been ill about a month and was taken to the Pacific Christian hospital in Eugene Dec. 15. He was brought home Saturday evening, Dec. 29. Apoplexy was the cause of his death.
He is survived by his wife and three sons, Dolph of Springfield, Ernest and W. O. of Junction City near the old home. His brothers and sisters are: B. W. Lingo of the Harmony district, Mrs. Jim Downing of Kelso, Wash., Henry Lingo of Klamath Falls, Jerry Lingo of Arlington, Wash., Mrs. Belle Westerlund of Portland. He also leaves a host of friends in this community.
