J. W. ALVEY DEAD
The death of Mr. J.W. Alvey occurred at 3 o'clock this morning [July 18, 1904] at his home on East Fourth Street. The cause of his death was consumption, from which he had suffered for many years. He was sixty-three years old and leaves a widow and several children. He will be buried Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Paul's Catholic Church at the Catholic cemetery. The pallbearers will be H.H. Smith, J.M. Gerteisen, James Woodward, George Poehlin, W.W. Crow and William Clark.

Mr. J. Warren Alvey died on Monday afternoon [July 18, 1904] at 2:30 o'clock at his home on East Fourth Street of a complication of diseases. He was sixty-three years of age. He left a wife; one son, Fladge Alvey; and two daughters, Miss Hattie Alvey and Mrs. Maggie Garrett. The funeral will take place this morning at 9 o'clock at St. Paul's Church. The interment will be at the Catholic church. The pallbearers are H.H. Smith, J.M. Gerteisen, James Woodward, W.W. Crow, William Clark and Charles Gerteisen.
