A Former Well-Known Resident of Charlotte Dies in Spartanburg.
Mr. John R. Davidson, formerly a resident of this city, died in Spartanburg, S. C., yesterday morning at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. A. A. Kendall. He was 80 years old. Three children survive. Mrs. Kendall, Miss Annie Davidson, who lives in Spartanburg, and Mr. Joseph Davidson, who resides in Selma, Ala.
Mr. Davidson was a native of this county and lived here until about ten years ago, when he moved to Spartanburg. He was a brother of Robert F. Davidson, Dr. Joseph Davidson and Col. William Davidson, all of whom are dead.
Mr. Davidson was an elder in the First Presbyterian church in this city while living here, and was universally respected for his piety and many excellent traits of character.
The remains will arrive from Spartanburg to-morrow morning and the funeral services will take place in the First Presbyterian church at 10:30 o'clock.

Funeral of John R. Davidson.
The remains of the late John R. Davidson arrived here from Spartanburg, S. C., yesterday morning, accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. A. A. Kendall, and her husband. The funeral services were conducted at the First Presbyterian church at 10:30 by Rev. Dr. J. R. Howerton, and the officers of the church were the pall-bearers. The interment was at Elmwood.
