Funeral for Ethel Margie Zimmerman, 94, of Sterling, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sillin Funeral Home, Sterling, with the Rev. Robert Friesen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
Mrs. Zimmerman died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Lyons Good Samaritan Center in Lyons.
She was born March 17, 1905, at Lyons, the daughter of John Benjamin and Daisy Minerva (Hartle) Cross. A longtime resident of Sterling, she was a homemaker.
On Sept. 6, 1927, she married Weldon Zimmerman at Hoisington. He died Feb. 20, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a son, Walter Leo Zimmerman; a daughter, Patricia Joy Zimmerman; two brothers, Bill Cross and John Cross; and two sisters, Ruby Ludwig and Thelma Mollart.
She is survived by a son, Wallace Lee Zimmerman, Garden City; a daughter, Sherry Bigcharles, Lyons; two sisters, Dorothy Carmichael, Meade, and Rowena Braman, Wichita; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours are until 5 tonight at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Lyons Good Samaritan Center; in care of the funeral home, Seventh and Jefferson, Sterling, KS 67579.
