Mrs. Mary Catherine Hughes, of 374 North Eighth Street, widow of Harry S. Hughes, died Sunday afternoon at the home of her son, John Hughes, 1603 Regina Street, Harrisburg, of a complication of diseases. The deceased had been ill for the past two weeks. She visited her son's home a week ago where she was compelled to remain in bed under the care of a physician. Mrs. Hughes was 71 years of age. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Home Circle of the Sunday school. The deceased was a life long resident of this city and was highly esteemed. One brother, John Embich, of Florida, is the only survivor beside her son, John, of Harrisburg. [Lebanon Daily News, Monday October 1, 1934]
