Born in Illinois, Mrs. Raness was married in 1923 in Tillamook to Thomas Fulton Ranes, who survives. She was a member of the Evangelical church in Lafayette and the Banner Rebekah lodge No. 53 in Lafayette.
She is survived, in addition to the widower by a step-son, Thomas Eugene Ranes, Murphy, and a step-daughter, Margaret Irene Vincent, Walla Walla; three brothers, A.D. Dill, Tillamook, E.E. Dill, Multnomah and Ed Dill, Condon; two sisters, Minnie Bishop, McMinnville, and Jessie Miller, Virginia, and two grandsons, Jack Jensen, and Francis Eugene Ranes, Gales Creek.
