MYERS -- John "Johnny" Myers of 92665 Territorial Road, Junction City, Oregon, died June 11, 1982 in Tarzana, California where he was participating in the Interferon Cancer Research Program. Johnny was born July 3, 1917, in Chicago, Illinois. He married Margaret Isherwood in Chicago in 1939. The couple moved to this area 10 years later. Johnny worked for the Lane County Sheriff's department for 20 years as a deputy and a detective. He was instrumental in the organization of several Neighborhood Watch Groups in the area. Survivors include: his wife, Margaret of Junction City; a daughter, Marge Weems of Los Angeles; 5 brothers: Eugene and Arthur of Chicago, George of Willow Springs, Missouri, Frank of Eugene, Jim of Junction City; 3 sisters: Kate, Jenny and Betty, all of Chicago; 3 grandchildren: David, John and Priscilla Weems of Los Angeles. Services will be held Sunday, June 20, 1982, at 1:30 P.M. at the First Christian Church, Junction City. Interment in Franklin Cemetery. Visitation Saturday, June 19, from 2 to 6 P.M. at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Junction City.
