Obituary
Unidentified Newsclipping - 1891
ANIBAL.--Ruth, wife of the late Edmund Anibal and mother of the Rev. C. P. Anibal, of Saranac Lake, Troy Conference, died at her home, in Benson, New York, March 7, 1891, of heart disease. The occasion was the burning of her house. Her son was absent, and when she discovered her building in flames she at once despaired of the house and tried to rescue an invalid, Mrs. Hunter, but could not, and being exhausted, attempted to sit down, exclaining: "I cannot get you out, and I will burn with you." Help came in time to rescue the invalid, but sister Alibal had gone home. She was buried from the Benson Methodist Episcopal Church March 11. She was born at Lake Pleasant July 3, 1826; was daughter of William Orcutt, of Lake Pleasant; joined the Methodist Episcopal church in 1844; was married in 1847. Unto her were born three sons and three daughters; all survive her. She was received into the church by B. Ames, and has continued faithful these forty-seven years. Thoughtful of others, she never considered self.
