Raymond F. Christlieb, 70, of Route #2, Park Rapids, died Friday, November 16 at the University Hospital in Minneapolis.
He was born December 14, 1908 at Mason City, Iowa to Charles & Ida Christlieb. His family moved from Mason City to Paynesville while he was still young and he lived there until 1926, when he moved to the Park Rapids area. After his marriage, he and his wife farmed and raised their family in Osage and Two Inlets Townships, Becker county. In 1967, he retired from faming full time and went to work for Clyde Johnson. He worked for Mr. Johnson until 1973, when he retired. In 1975 he moved to Straight Lake in Osage Township where he has since resided. He served on the Two Inlets Township Board for six years and was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Osage.
He was married to Lydia J. Pritchard on November 1, 1930 at Detroit Lakes.
Survivors include his wife Lydia, three sons, Royce of Denver, CO, Donald of Lake Elmo and Bill of Grand Rapids, three daughters Mrs. David (Doris) Holt of New Brighton, Linda Christlieb of Roseville, and Mrs. Ron (Debbie) Smith of Hermantown; one brother, Clarence of Park Rapids, and three sisters; Mrs. Rudolph (Frances) Hensel and Mrs. Florence Hensel both of Park Rapids, and Mrs. Art (Elaine) Bestul of Naples.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, (Dickie and Darrell) and one brother, Wayne.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Monday, Nov 19 at the Faith Baptist Church in Park Rapids with Pastor Durwin Burtz and Pastor Lloyd Sprecher officiating. Organist was Maxine Carter. Selections were "How Great Thou Art" and "I'd Rather Have Jesus". Duet was sung by Rev. and Mrs. Ben Fadenrecht. Duet selections were "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "Ivory Palaces".
Honorary pallbearers were Clayton Coberly, Roy Wright, Everett Carver, Bud Cumbers, Warren Platten, Ted Colgrove, Russ Westphal, and Joe Eischens.
Pallbearers were Eugene Pritchard, Gary Pritchard, Ralph Christlieb, Marvin Hensel, Robert Pritchard Jr., and Jack Bestul.
Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery with arrangements handled by Jones Funeral Home of Park Rapids.
