STRONG, ME -- Muriel W. Ayotte, 93, of Strong died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at Russell Park Extended Care Facility in Lewiston, where she had been a patient for the past month following a long illness.

She was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Rockland, a daughter of Frank E. And Gladys H. (Hitchcock) Sibley.

She was educated in the schools of Framingham, Mass., Maynard, Mass., and graduated from Farmington High School, class of 1932. In 1936 she graduated from Peter-Bent Brigham School of Nursing in Boston where she received her registered nursing degree. She began work in 1937 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, retiring in 1957.

She married Albert Ayotte Sr. in Ashland, Nov. 10, 1937. He died May 13, 2000.

Muriel was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Strong, the Strong United Methodist Church and Lady's Guild. She had made her home in Strong since 1937.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Jean Theriault.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at the Strong Village Cemetery in Strong, with the Rev. Gary Hudley officiating.

Arrangements under the care and direction of Dan & Scott's Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan.
