Lloyd E Davis brother to LC Davis postmaster here died at the home of his brother on Front Street early Sunday night. He had been in Georgetown several months resting after an illness which attacked him at his home in Missouri.
Three weeks ago Mr Davis' condition took a turn for the worse. Pneumonia set in Saturday. In his weakened condition he was unable to resist the ravages of the disease.
Mr Davis was born in Doniphan Mo twenty eight years ago. He made his native town his home until a few months ago. He was a linotype operator in the plant of the Doniphan Republican a daily newspaper published there.
In addition to his brother here he is survived by his mother Mrs Geo T Davis of Doniphan Oscar L Davis of Amorilla Texas; and two sisters Mrs JH Parks and Miss Marie Davis both of Doniphan.
Funeral services were conducted from his brother's home Monday afternoon by the Rev Welbourne Summers with interment in Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were WB Cook, DB Morris, GA Colbert, HP Ward, LT Easley and Adle Bourne.
