Mary J. Kollar, 86, Streator, passed away Sunday (May 10, 2009) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Streator.
She was born Sept. 21, 1922, daughter of Walter and Maud Harvey Wakeman. She married Arthur Brennan in January of 1942. He passed away in September of 1968. She then married Elmer Kollar on Feb. 9, 1985. He survives.
Also surviving are a foster son, Kenneth A. (Elizabeth) Elias, Peoria; brother, Ray "Whitey" (Dorothy) Wakeman, Streator; and several nieces and nephews; nine foster grandchildren; and several foster great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a foster son, Richard Elias; sisters, Rose Kress and Frances Brandolino; and brothers, John, Roy, Carl, Thomas and George Wakeman.
She retired from Knoedler Manufacturing in 1980.
She graduated from Dana High School in 1940.
