Nancy Proctor von Pohle

Nancy Jean Proctor von Pohle 65, a longtime resident of the Napa Valley, passed away after a long battle with pulmonary disease on April 25, 2006 in her home in Calistoga.
Nancy, beloved wife of Dr. Carlos von Pohle, is survived by her daughter and four stepsons. Nana to eleven grand and great grand children. Survived by a sister and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her twin brother, Steven Walling Proctor and by her parents Ralph A. and Mary Jane Proctor.
Nancy grew up in Berkeley, where her father was a professor at UC Berkeley. She graduated high school there. Nancy was proud of her California ancestory.
Active in several community organizations, Nancy was a member of HUD, which helped establish the Tucker Farm Center as a Napa County Landmark and the committee to preserve Hwy 128 in Knights Valley as a country road instead of a freeway. Her membership also included the Knights Valley Women's Club, Soroptimists, Paul Harris Fellowship of Rotary International, Calistoga Chamber of Commerce, Sharpsteen Museum and the Salvation Army. She was a regular mounted rider and judge of the Fourth of July Silverado Parade in Calistoga.
Nancy was also an active member of the Calistoga Seventh Adventist Church, where she and Carlos attended together for almost 20 years.
