Mom went home to be with her Lord and Savior, 9:55 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 60 years young. She was born September 29, 1948 to Willis Washington and Era Mae Poss. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and nana to her precious grandbabies. She was a dedicated employee of Sea Ray Boats in Vonore for 25 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved spending her weekends scouting out the local yard sales. She proudly professed her love and faith in Jesus Christ. She was a member of Citico Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Betty Boatfield; brother, Sonny Boatfield. Survivors: husband of 42 years, John P. Baker; son, Pearce Baker; daughter, Deborah Jo Baker; son, William Jack "Bill" Baker, all of Vonore; grandchildren, Miranda Baker, Caton Odom, Luke and Aubrie Breeden; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva and Bobby Simpson, Elba, Joyce & Boyd McArthur, Linda and Melvin Glover, all of Hampton, GA, Mary and Randell Teague, Vonore, Louise Sanders, Newnan, GA; brother, James Boatfield, Barnesville, GA; very special sister-in-law, Betty Greene, Newnan, GA; special aunt, Tennie Claxton; special cousin, Carolyn Cook, both of McDonough, GA; many nieces, nephews and other special family and friends.
