Pvt. 9 Ala Inf. CSA, May15, 1918His real name was Richard Jefford (some say Jefferson) Isbell, but at the age of 14 he took the name of his uncle James R., so that he could join the Alabama Infantry.

Also in this cemetery, his wife Sara Frances Owen Isbell, who later lived in the Confederate Women's Home at Austin.
