Obituary
John Rate Alldredge was born in Dunlap, Kansas of February 12th, 1886. Part of his childhood was spent in Kansas and California but most of is in Muskogee, Indian Territory. While attending school in Muskogee his back was severely hurt while at play and although a strong boy at the time the injury was so great that he never entirely recovered his former strength.
He learned telegraphy and station work at the M.K. and T. depot, under his uncle A. R. Wallace of this place. While living here at this time he became a member of the Presbyterian church of White City.
He was agent at Parkerville and Dunlap, also relief agent at White City and Emporia. When he took agency at Dunlap he and his mother moved there. After his mother's death was married to Miss Ethel Roberts of Dunlap on January 28th, 1914.
In June 1917 they moved to White City where he accepted the assistant cashership of the Farmers State Bank which position he held at the time of his death on Tuesday October 1st, 1918.
