Sara J. Silva of Fresno passed away in a Fresno hospital at the age of 83 years. Sara was born in Sanger and raised in Laton.
She was a homemaker as well as an avid reader and coin collector. Sara loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren knew her as GG.
Sara is survived by two sons, Anthony Avila and wife Wanda of Lemoore and William Silva of Texas; two daughters, Kathy Alves and husband Louie of Hanford, Jeanne Lott and husband Mitchell of Fresno; three brothers, Frank Caetano and Eddie Caetano both of Hanford and Alfred Caetano of Arkansas; three sisters, Mabel Neves and Isabel Alves both of Hanford and Mary Mendoza of Turlock; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mary Caetano, her husband, Manuel Silva, a son, Manny Silva and a daughter, Elaine Jones.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, May 14 followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m., at Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel in Lemoore.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 15 at the Phipps-Dale Chapel, with interment following in the Lemoore Cemetery.
