Georgia Ann Abney, 74 of West Plains, died at May 6, 2009, at her home. She was born Aug. 24, 1934, at Mountain Home, AR, to Barton and Nettie Dover Alsup.
On Oct. 18, 1952 she was married at Salem, AR, to Bert Eli Abney.
Mrs. Abney was a member of the Harbor of Hope Church.
She is survived by her husband, Bert Abney of the family home; four children, Cecil Abney and wife, Sandy, of West Plains, MO; Sandra Abney and special friend, Jessie Travis of Pekin, IL; Tamera White and husband, Timothy of West Plains, MO; and Greg Abney and special friend, Heather Garcia of Winona, MO; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Barton Alsup Jr. of Springfield, MO; three sisters, May Shelton and husband, Rev. Ray Shelton of Green Forest, AR; Ellen Davis and Lena Hammock, both of West Plains, MO; sisters-in-law, Mary Bragg and husband, Victor of West Plains, NO; Melvina Pankey of Pekin, IL; Ellen Bragg of West Plains, MO; and Janice Foster and husband, Rev. Carmen Foster of Greenbriar, AR; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Reverend Anna Abney; one daughter, Rebecca Ann Abney; one grandson, Robert Michael Grogan; one great-granddaughter, Larisa Nicole Wilder; two sisters, Vina Kincheloe and Faye Baker; two brothers, Frank Alsup and John Alsup; two brothers-in-law, Rev. John C. Abney and John Bragg; and one sister-in-law, Nina Alsup, preceded her in death.
Graveside services were May 12, 2009, at the Howell Valley Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
