Jeptha was named after his Uncle who had died young, Jeptha Nunnery 1825-1843. Jeptha was in the War Between the States with his elder father James Nunnery. First he was a Corporal with the 31st Regiment, Tennessee. Then that unit became the 49th Regiment, organized in Nashville. Jeptha and his company became POW's at Fort Donalson in Sept. 1863 and were confined at Camp Douglas. (Source Sailors and soldiers, and confederacy war data)
