William Hoskins married (3) after 1674 Elizabeth (_____) Knapp, widow of Aaron Knapp. (On 27 October 1674, "letters of administration was granted unto Elizabeth Knapp on the estate of Aron [Knapp]."
There were no children from this marriage.
On 17 January 1702[/3?], "Elizabeth Hoskins of Taunton … whose first husband was Aron Knap deceased of said Taunton and she the executrix to his last will & testament together with her eldest son Aaron Knap now living in Swansey, John Knap & Samuel Knap both of said Taunton," entered into an agreement, in which "the said Elizabeth Hoskins, widow, together with her son Aaron Knap, executors to the last will and testament of Aron Knap deceased," relinquished to "John Knap and Samuel Knap" rights to lands in Taunton.
This document, in conjunction with the deed of 7 October 1690, makes it clear that it was William Hoskins the immigrant who married, as his third wife, Elizabeth (_____) Knapp, the widow of Aaron Knapp. (This confirms a speculation made by Donald Lines Jacobus in 1945 and again in 1959.
