Maggie was the seventh daugher of William A and Minnie Haupt. She was a member of the only high school class to graduate from Plumer School. The graduation was held at the Plumer Methodist church in May 1902. She married John R Barnes and they lived in Franklin. They had one daughter Marguerite (Peggy).
Maggie was only ill one day with pneumonia and died. The body was taken to the Boyd N Park undertaking parlors and burial was in the Franklin Cemetery.
Deaths: "Mrs. Margaret Haupt Barnes, wife of Fred (John R.) Barnes of 172 Meadville Pike, died in the Franklin city hospital at 6:30 p.m. Monday after a one-day's illness of Pneumonia.
She is survived by her husband and daughter, Marguerite, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. George Brecht of Sharon (Greenville) and William, Walter, Anna, Elizabeth, and May, all of Plumer.
