ELMWOOD - Virginia T. Fesenmaier, age 94, of Elmwood died Tuesday, May 13, 2009, at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Menomonie.
Virginia was born on Dec. 28, 1914, in the township of Eau Galle, rural Dunn County. She was the daughter of Clarence and Frances (Hei) Mulheron. Virginia grew up mostly in the Farm Hill area of rural Elmwood and was a graduate of the Elmwood High School. After school, Virginia worked at the Elmwood Creamery for several years. Virginia married Raymond Fesenmaier on May 24, 1938, at Farm Hill. After marriage, they moved to the family farm on Morton Hill in the town of Eau Galle for many years. They moved to the village of Elmwood in 1966. The family farm is now in its fifth generation of operation. Virginia's pride and joy was taking care of and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed staying at their lake home in the summer and wintering in Florida.
Virginia is survived by her son, Douglas (Mary) of Elmwood; four daughters, Patricia (James) Speake Jr. of Tavares, Fla., Sandra (Larry) Feiler of Menomonie, Barbara (Dennis) Parr of Eau Claire and Dianne (Lon) Herrick of Racine; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clair Mulheron of Elmwood and James Mulheron of Menomonie; two sisters, Ethel Bauer of Durand and Kathleen Bauer of Newport News, Va.; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond, in 1996; and one sister, Cleo Diemert.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elmwood. The Rev. Varkey V. Joseph will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Rhiel Funeral Home in Elmwood, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
