A very sad death occurred last week when Mrs. C. H. Hildebrand died from blood poison. A baby daughter arrived sometime before, and the mother was up and around. Mrs. R. B. Garnett of McCracken, a sister of Mrs. Hildebrand, has taken the baby to raise.

Winnie Octa Clark Hildebrand, daughter of J. C. and Margaret Clark, was born January 27, 1898, on their farm in Solomon Township. Died at her home in Happy Township March 7, 1924, being 26 years, 1 month, and 9 days. Her childhood and youth were spent at their home in Shiloh District.
Her mother passed to the Great Beyond when she was, but a child, and her father went on when she was fourteen years old. She lived with her brothers and did her part in making the place a real home.
In her early youth, she accepted Christ as her Savior, and through her life, she tried to follow His teachings. She was a member of the Presbyterian church. When she realized that the end was near, she was reconciled to meet the summons; although she felt she had so much to live for, she said she was ready if it was the Lord's will.
September 12, 1920, she was united in marriage to Charles Hildebrand, and to this union were born two children, June Lunett and Harold Douglas. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, two children, six sisters, and six brothers, and a host of sympathizing friends. Funeral services were conducted at Morland by R. A. Collins, assisted by Rev. Bieber, and interment was made at the Morland Cemetery.
