ENGEL
Mr. John Christian Engel, a native of Indiana and resident of Daphne, died May 14 in a Mobile hospital. Mr. Engel was an accomplished musician, retired Postal inspector, retired chief of security for Morrison Inc, treasurer of the Mobile Presbyterian Church, treasurer of the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church, member of the Masonic Lodge and the Alabama Peach Officers Association and was on the board of directors for Villa Mercy.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Muriel Engel; three daughters, Patricia Howard, Dayton, OH, Muriel Box, Fairhope, Carole Fruitman, Tucson, AR; one sister, Marion Smith, Arnold, CA and six grandchildren.
Graveside services were held May 17 at Montrose Cemetery and memorial services were held at the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Pierre Burns officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were by Bayview Funeral Home of Fairhope.
