Mrs. Leona C. Davis, 94, of Columbus,, who had some nieces, nephews and friends in Jackson County, died at 3 p. m. Friday at the Lakeview Care Center in Hope.

Mrs. Davis was a longtime school teacher in Columbus and other parts of Bartholomew County. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Columbus, where she was a longtime member of the Loyal Workers Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Amarath Class of the Petersville Methodist Church in Bartholomew County.

Mrs. Davis had been a member of the Columbus Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, for more than 50 years and was active in Extension Homemakers.

Born Nov. 27, 1881, in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Margaret Carries Bradford. She was married to Nathan B. Davis, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Flora B. Pancake, of the Lakeview Care Center, two nieces, one nephew and three grandnephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a. m. Monday from the Hathaway-Myers Funeral Chapel in Columbus. Dr. Ard Hoven, pastor of the First Christian Church in Columbus, will officiate. Burial in the Springer Cemetery in Elizabethtown.

Friends may call from 3 .to 8 p. m. Sunday at the Hathaway-Myers Funeral Chapel.
