Bernice Alberta Allen, 94, of Keokuk, died at 5:05 AM Saturday, October 11, 2003, at River Hills of Keokuk.

She was born May 1, 1909 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Grace Delma Brown Rockelmann. She married Aubrey Allen on August 26, 1930 in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1991.

She had lived in the Keokuk area all her life. She was a member of First Christian Church of Keokuk and was active in the ladies' groups of the church and the Jenny Lee Sunday School class. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, making candles and cooking. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker.

She is survived by a daughter, Jane Baum and her husband, Frank, of Keokuk; two granddaughters, Julie McCall and her husband, Mitch, of Keokuk and Brenda Baum of Maryville, Illinois; three great granddaughters, Bethanie Ashley, Leslie Ashley and Alexandra McCall, all of Keokuk; and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Allen; her parents; a sister, Doris Sacasky; and a brother, Ross Rockelmann.

Funeral services were Monday, October 13, 2003 at First Christian Church in Keokuk with Rev. William S. Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Illinois.
