Bill Bratten






Bill Bratten, 64, Parkville, Mo passed away unexpectedly May 3, 2009 at his home. He was born January 11, 1945 in Dayton, OH to Charles Sr. and Rose W. Hager Bratten. He was a 1965 graduate of Park Hill High School.

He joined the United States Army on March 20, 1964 and served in Vietnam. He was awarded two Purple Hearts during this time and was honorably discharged on January 2, 1967. He spent the majority of his working years as a Bail Bondsman in the Kansas City area and was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing and canoeing.

He was preceded in death by his mother and three brothers. Survivors include the mother of his children, Jacqueline Benn; two sons, Keven Michael Bratten of Platte City, MO. and Sean William Bratten of Kansas City, Mo; a daughter, Ketia Marie Hulett of Smithville; his father, Charles Sr. of Parkville; seven grandchildren, Sara, Aaron, Tyler, Nicholas, Alicia, Ashley, Karsyn and two step grandchildren, Blake and Britteny.

A prayer service and recitation of the rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at the Meyers Funeral Chapel Northland . The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. The body will be cremated following the service. A committal service will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 11th at the Leavenworth National Cemetery where Military Honors will be presented under the auspices of the United States Army. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Red Cross.
