Elizabeth "Lizzie" (or "Lilly" apparently in Virginia) was born in Texas (probably in Bastrop County) in 1863, the daughter of Dr. David Sayers and Inda Scott Sayers, who were both born in Virginia. She can be found with her parents and siblings on the 1870 and 1880 censuses in Bastrop County. She married Nicholas Albert Sayers of Pulaski, Virginia, in October 1890 in Bastrop County. He is probably a distant cousin to her. They can be found in Pulaski on the 1900 (she is Lizzie there) and 1910 (she is Lillie there) censuses. Apparently she came back to Texas after her husband's death in 1912, and lived with her single sister Jessie Alison Sayers, who was a mathematics instructor at what is today Texas State University in San Marcos. Lizzie/Lilly died in San Marcos in 1918. On the death certificate, it is noted that she is buried in Pulaski. The informant is her sister Jessie.
