Word was received here Wednesday morning of the death of former Presiding Judge Floyd M. Inman of Cassville at the Mt. Vernon hospital where he had been a patient for more than one month. Judge Inman had been ill for several months.

A native of the Macedonia community northeast of Purdy, he was about 70 years of age. The Inman family was one of the pioneer families of that community and Judge Inman's mother still lives there.

During the 1920's and early 30's, Inman was a member of the "Macedonia Quartet" along with the Rev. Calvin Henderson of Cassville, the Rev. Fred McPhail of Aurora and Spencer Smith of Monett. The group became well known over the Midwest in music circles and for several years gave concerts and programs over the country. One of their tours took them to California. The quartet was probably among the first gospel singing quartets to make records for the RCA Victor recording company.

In 1928 Judge Inman was elected to the office of County Treasurer which he held until 1933. In 1942 he was appointed Presiding Judge of the Barry County Court to succeed the late Judge Fred Cole and in the same year was elected to the office for a four year term and in 1946 was re-elected. He retired from public office in 1951, and returned to his saw mill operation in the Macedonia area where he made his home. About two years ago he moved to Cassville and the family had since resided here, Mrs. Inman passed away here last fall.

Survivors include one son and three daughters, Morris Inman of Kansas City, Fontella Smith and Marjorie Smith, both of Purdy, and Virginia Inman of the home; his mother, Mrs. Jane Inman of near McDowell; three sisters, Mrs. Reta Williams, Monett, Mrs. Mittie Burbridge, Purdy, and Mrs. Gertie Huey, Jenkins; and three brothers, Arley Inman of Mt. Vernon, Denver Inman of McDowell, and Cleaton Inman of the Purdy community.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at the Buchanan Chapel in Monett at 2 o'clock.
