Ethel Evelyn Masteller Aug. 17, 1924 to Dec. 16, 2003

Ethel Evelyn Masteller, 79, 6309 E. 250 South, Rochester, died at 1:35 a. m. Tuesday at Life Care Center, Rochester, where she had been a patient since Nov. 2. She had been in failing health for the past five months.

Born near Akron to Thomas and Pearl Grace Shoemaker Boyer, she lived her entire life in the Macy, Akron and Rochester communities. She married Claude W. Masteller in Athens on Dec. 20, 1941. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1998. She was a 26 year employee of the former Hart Schaffner & Marx Corp., Rochester, and had assisted her late husband in the operati on of the family farm. She was a member of Richland Center United Methodist Church near Rochester.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon and husband Michael Sipe, Indianapolis, Claudia and husband Roger Bailey, Akron; two grandchildren, Andy Sipe, Indianapolis, Angela Ahlefeld, Anderson; six great grandchildren; and one sister, Maxine Myers, Plymouth. She was preceded in death by her parent s, husband, one sister and three brothers.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, 128 W. Sixth St., Rochester. Burial will be at Hoover Cemetery, Athens. Visitation will be 4 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Richland Center United Methodist Church.
