Born in Pennsylvania, Oct. 3, 1847, Mrs. Rose came west with her husband, William Ed Rose, shortly after their marriage, and homesteaded on a farm six miles west of Spencer. After living on the farm for a period of years, they moved to Spencer where they made their home.
Mr. Rose died eight years ago, then Mrs. Rose went to Fort Dodge where she resided until five years ago when she went to Des Moines.
Mr. & Mrs. Rose celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary in Spencer 10 years ago.
