BOYD H. WEAVER, 89, of Kittanning RD 5 (Rose Valley), died Wednesday, May 11, 1977, at his late home.
A son of Daniel James and Mary Ann Cogley Weaver, he was born May 27, 1887, in Rural Valley.
Mr. Weaver was a member of Pleasant Union Lutheran Church and a past member of the church council. He was also a member of UMWA Local 600.
A retired miner who had been employed by the R&P Coal Company in Yatesboro for 50 years, he had lived his entire life in the area.
Surviving are his widow, Laura Geiger Weaver; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Hoover, Livermore, Calif.; Mrs. Charles I. (Mildred) Roseberger, Yatesboro; Mrs. Chester E. (Velma) Mechling, Kittanning RD 5; Mrs. William R. (Eva) Andryka, Yatesboro; one son, Ivan H. Fairmont, W. Va.; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Mr. and Mrs. Weaver had celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary April 27.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today in the Roy W. Carson Funeral Home, Rural Valley, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Firday, May 13, with the Rev. J. Samuel Johns officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Union Lutheran Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Pleasant Union Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, c/o the Rev. Samuel J. Johns.
