Lois M. Dunktebarger

Mrs. Lois M. Dunklebarger, 606 E. Logan Ave., passed
away peacefully at the, age of 85 Sunday, May 23,2004, in
San Francisco after a long illness: Lois was a registered nurse, a graduate of Kings County Nursing Schooi, Brooklyn,
N.Y. After graduation, she joined the Army Air Corps
during WWII and served her country nursing the war
wounded. She returned to Altoona after the war and married
Clarence Dean Dunklebarger. In 1951, they moved to Niagara
Falls, N.Y., and Lois continued her nursing career working as the head nurse in the emergency room at Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Lois again returned to
Altoona in 1974 to care for her father. She was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Volunteer Services
and the community. A friend to many, Lois was known as
the community historian. She is survived by her eight
children: Miles, Deborah, Clarence, Terry, Sandra, Alice,
Wanda and Lisa; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Tom Morris. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Clarence, and her
granddaughter, Lisa Jean Dunklebarger

Lisa Jean's Death was due to Car Accident.


Friends will be received
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mank & Yates Funeral
Home Inc., Juniata. Funeral
services will be held at 10 a.m.
Thursday at Bethany
