Collins - James W. Kicklighter, Sr., 80, died April 9, 2004 at his residence in Collins. He was a native of Evans County and lived in Tattnall County the past five years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. He was owner/operator of Kick's Gas Co. where he retired from. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, James Ebben and Mary Kicklighter and his sister, Evelyn Collins. Survivors: wife, Linda Kicklighter of Collins; two sons, James W. Kicklighter Jr. of Midway, GA, Allen Kicklighter of Waynesboro, GA; three daughters, Sandra Todd of Claxton, Glenda morris of Statesboro, and Beverly Kicklighter of Reidsville; two step-sons, James Edenfield of Alaska, and George Edenfield of Lyons; one brother, Harold Kicklighter of Claxton; one sister, Veatrice Holland of Claxton; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his mother-in-law, Yvonne NeSmith and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: will be held Sunday, April 11, 2004, 6:00 p.m. until at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home in Claxton. Funeral: service will be held Monday, April 12, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church. Burial: Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home
