Lee Alvey, Formerly of Rineyville, Accidentally killed in Louisville Kempis Lee Alvey, a son of William Alvey of near Rineyville, an employee of Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company of Louisville was almost instantly killed Thursday in the plant of the company when he was struck with a terrific force by a piece of iron hurling from some machinery Accourding to one report, Alvey was struck by a heavy steel wrench which fell onto a fly wheel and rebounded striking him in the head and fracturing his skull which resulted in his death a short time afterwards The unfortunate man who was 28 years old was born and reared in this Co and moved from Rineyville to Louisville only a short time ago He is survived by his widow to whom he was married but four months ago, five brothers, Alfonzo, Ira Charles, Ernest and Martin Alvey, the latter being a soldier in France, one sister, Mrs Charles Gatton and his father J W Alvey The burial was in Louisville

ALVEY - Suddenly Tuesday June 11 at 3 pm, Kempis Lee Alvey in his twenty-fifth year, beloved husband of Nannie Agnita Alvey (nee Carrico). Funeral from residence, Earl Ave. near Taylor Blvd, Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. and from Holy Name Church at 9 p.m. Interment at St. Louis Cemetery.
