From "The Fickerts of Bear Valley" by Eleanor Engelstad:

Ola Mae was born on the Williamson Ranch in 1904, the daughter of Louis Boden who was born in Tehachapi in 1874 and died there in 1951. He was U.S. Marshall for the city and county from 1915 to 1926 and a constable from 1926 until his death. Since he was large, tall, and serious, Boden was well equipped to keep the peace in Tehachapi without any other assistance. Louis' father, Frederick Boden, had settled in Old Town in 1862 where he operated a blacksmith's shop until he moved the business into Tehachapi some time in 1878.

Ola Mae's mother was Mary Ann (Mamie) Williamson, daughter of Dick Williamson. Dick, Ola Mae's maternal grandfather, arrived in Tehachapi in 1873 and married a daughter of Mary Ann Haigh in 1879. Before Tehachapi was incorporated, he was the town watchman. Then he became a Kern County Deputy Marshall and was elected constable in 1906. He died in 1911. Great-grandmother, Mary Ann Haigh, moved into Tehachapi in 1876 when the railroad was under construction and operated a rooming house and restaurant for railroad men.

Ola Mae Boden married Herbert N. Force in 1923, and after 1943 when they moved back to Tehachapi from Bakersfield, they became serious collectors of artifacts. Mrs. Force was particularly fond of her glassware collection. She inherited much of the glassware from her mother and grandmother. She and Herb also had a collection of over 400 insulators, and he was particularly successful at collecting old bottles, more than 1500 of them They found many of these items in old homes and ranches in the area and became interested in preserving them for the historical value. They were the first people allowed by the Fickerts to search the old dumps in Bear Valley. One of their "finds" was Moses Hart's branding iron. Their good friends, the Fickerts, allowed them to hunt, cut wood, and roam all over Bear Valley. The ladies even named the original Bear Valley lake, "Sharon's Lake" after the Forces granddaughter.

Herb and Ola Mae's house, which is just across the street from the Tehachapi Hospital and is now used as an office by Dr. Ruiz, was filled with all these treasures. The cooking area in the kitchen has a wall of bricks collected from 76 ranches and buildings in the area. The Forces kept enlarging the house in order to accommodate the collection and, in fact, made one room into a museum although the rest of their collection was spread throughout the house. Many long-time residents, appreciating the Forces' dedication to preservation of local history, gave them antiques and historical pieces for the collection.

Her mother, Mary Ann "Mamie" Williamson died in Los Angeles on June 9, 1943. Her last name is listed as Burton.

Her daughter Mary Lou Force died in San Bernardino County on 12 June 1987. Her last name is listed as Neufeld.

Her son, Herbert Neal Force died in Florida in 2005.

She also has a son, Louis William Force.
