Mary Ellen was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Keedy (1840-1913) & Sarah Snyder (1841-1932). She was one of 5 siblings, Ada May (1867), Albert Lincoln (1870), Sherman Elsworth (1873), & Lorena Grace (1877). Her family moved west to Nemaha Co., NE, leaving Keedysville, Maryland on March 31 of 1881. Mary Ellen kept a diary of the trip. She married Louis Christopher Long (1854-1914) on Sep. 15, 1885 in Auburn, Nemaha, Nebraska. They had 3 children, Mabelle Virginia (1888), Louis Charles (1891), & Elmo Thomas (1894). After Louis Christopher died, the extended family moved in 1915 to CO to homestead near Grover, Weld Co., CO. By 1920, the family had moved to Bushnell, Kimball, NE where she met Thomas A. Bible. They were both widowers. They were married & moved to Los Angeles, CA where they lived the rest of their lives.
