Fredrick married Marie Rose Plante born 1897 in MN. They married in Belle Prairie on Dec. 1, 1919. To their union was born a daughter, Joyce, born 1920 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and a son, Fredrick Charles Jr born 1931 Minnesota.

1930 US Census shows Fred, Marie and 9 yr old Joyce living in Detroit MI. Fred was a steam engineer in an automobile plant. In 2014, Joyce recalled that their stay in Detroit was brief. But they, along with so many Americans in that year, were relocating for employment opportunity.
