Thomas Beecham
Thomas Beecham was born in Clogheen, Tipperary, Ireland December 10, 1867 and departed this life at St. Elizabeth's hospital, Lincoln January 21, 1936, at the age of 68 years, one month and eleven days. He came to America in the year 1888, at the age of 20 years. Settling near David City, Nebraska, he engaged in the occupation of farming. In the year 1895 he was married to Catherine Ann Kerly (Kelly) of Ulysses, Nebraska. To this union were born six sons and six daughters. Two daughters, Vera and Vivian, preceded him in death. In the year 1907, he moved his family to Arapahoe, Nebraska where they resided until 1919, when they moved to Palmyra, later moving to a farm near Bennet where he lived until the time of his death. He leaves to morn his loss a loving wife, his children, William, Hubert, Leo and Ella of Palmyra, Edward of Omaha, John, Ruth and Ruby of Lincoln, Frances and Clair of McCook, three brothers; William of Palmyra, Michael of Omaha and Patrick of Deadwood, South Dakota and thirteen grandchildren, besides other numerous relatives and friends.
Mr. Beecham's six sons acted as Pallbearers at the funeral which was held Friday morning at St. Leo's church, Rev. Father Hennessy officiating.
Those attending the funeral of Mr. Beecham from a distance were: Dan and Hugh Keely (Kelly), Will Mahoney, Tom Powers Sr. And John Powers of Ulysses, Mart Bandola, Henry Noar, Ray McNeil, Marie McGinley, Mrs. W. McNeil, Mary Bloomer, Mr. And Mrs. Michael Beecham, Katheryn and Will of Omaha, John Snyder of Lincoln.
