Mrs. Day died from complications following a stroke at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. She was 70 years old.
Mrs. Day was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Vesta Franks Gregg, and the widow of the late Robert Noah Day. She was a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Shriners.
Survivors include: two daughters, Tommy Carol Glass of Memphis, Tennessee, and Schawana Moore of Bartlett, Tennessee; one son, Robert Day, Jr., of Marion, Arkansas; four sisters, Carol Mims of Vaiden, Shirley Kimes of Germantown, Tennessee, Tony Rainey of Boyle, and Naomi White of Vaiden; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 250 Williams Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30303-1002; or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children; 2900 Rocky Point Drive; Tampa, FL 33607.
