Co. C, 11th Texas Cavalry, CSA. Enlisted at Paris, Texas 22 July 1862; captured at Battle of Stones River (Murfreesboro, Tennessee) 31 Dec 1862; died (according to NARA records) 10 Feb 1863 in St. Louis hospital, of typhoid fever.

Presumably the same A. J. Oglesby who was in Sacramento during the gold rush, listed as a laborer in the 1850 census.
