William Evan Dixon, son of Wesley and Frances Dixon, was born Aug. 4, 1882, at Licking and died Nov. 15, 1956, at the Prior Rest Home in Licking. His age at the time of his death was 74 years, three months, and 11 days.

He was of a family of six children, four boys and two girls, Mrs. Iva Marr and Mrs. Pearl Wilson of Licking; John and Palmer Dixon of Raymondville and Ike Dixon who died who died Aug. 22, 1938.

He was united in marriage to Mattie Lee Barbee in 1908. Mrs. Dixon died June 9, 1936. To this union was born three children: Virginia Ruth Miller of Welsh, Oklahoma and Barbee Dixon of Licking, both of whom survive, and Frances Krewson who died Sept. 31, 1935.

Early in life Mr. Dixon professed faith in Christ and united with the Boone Creek Baptist Church.

Besides the son and daughters and brothers and sisters he is survived by six grandchildren: Donna Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Marie Taliscore, Fairborn, Ohio; Rosalie and Jimmy Dixon of Licking; Doyle and Don Krewson of Salem, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Gina and Marina Taliscore of Fairborn, Ohio; and four nieces, Wanda Sirnal, Dickie Johnson, Vera Slaughter, and Hope McConn.
