Sarah Anne Wright (1858-1925)

Eldest Daughter of the late Alexander and Euphemia Harriet Carlisle Wright formerly of McKillop Township, Concession 13, Huron County, Ontario, Canada, born September 18, 1858 at Seaforth, Ontario, Canada and long time Resident of Hart, Michigan. After spending her childhood on the Family Farm at McKillop in Canada.... Sarah came to Michigan and located at Pentwater.
Sarah and her Husband Ira farmed in the Hart area being one of Hart's earliest residents, raising three children, William Cyrenas, Minne E. and Ray Layton. Sarah was a Member of the Rebakah Lodge for many years and very active in the community.
Friends of Sarah Anne Wright, formerly of Brussels, Ontario, Canada crowded the Congregational Church Saturday afternoon, when her funeral rites were performed by Rev. Rex O. Holman and the Rebeka Lodge. Sarah passed away suddenly at her home in Hart, Michigan April 23rd. from a severe heart attack, and is survived by her Husband Ira, two Sons, one Daughter, five grandchildren and one great grandchild, also two Brothers, William F. Wright of Battle Creek, Saskatchewan, Canada, and John C. Wright of Deloraine, Manitoba, Canada, one Sister Mary Jane Wright Graham of Toronto, Ontario, Canada formerly of Brussels, Ontario, Canada.
Although Sarah Anne Wright Cunningham was the Mother of four children, William C. of Nashville, Michigan, Mrs. Minnie E. Kokx of Nashville, Ray Layton of Flint, Michigan, and a Daughter dying in infancy, she found time to be a faithful worker in the Presbyterian and Christian Science Churches, and a helpful neighbor to her friends on all occasions. Sarah had a reputation in Hart as being a kind friend and a good neighbor, the floral tributes and large attendance at the funeral testifying to her popularity in the District.
