James Ben "Pop" Cooke, age 69 of Dog Bluff Rd., died Thursday, December 6, 2006 at Conway Medical Center. Born in Galivants Ferry, SC, he was the son of the late James Ben and Mary Jane James Cooke. Mr. Cooke was employed by Myrtle Beach Travel Park and was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. Surviving are: two daughters, Fran Martin and husband Chris of Conway, Traci Rabon and husband Michael of Galivants Ferry; three grandchildren, Chase Martin, Bridgit Rabon and Benjamin Rabon and a sister, Bonnie Young of Galivants Ferry. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday from Pisgah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Henry Altman and James"Tiny" Hucks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Pisgah United Methodist Church, 1600 Pisgah Church Rd., Galivants Ferry, SC 29544.
