"Her birth year on the tombstone is incorrect. It should be May 1841. In the 1900 Census her birth year is recorded as May 1841, In the 1880 Census estimated at Abt. 1841,and in the 1870, 1860 & 1850 Censuses estimated at Abt 1842.

Per her obituary published 13 April 1908 in the Carbondale Free Press (IL) she died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Margaret Lindsay in Lutesville, Bollinger County, Missouri.

Josephine Brayshaw married William Byars on 08 February 1860 in Perry County, Missouri. Per marriage license Archived with the Perry County Clerk in Volume 4, Page 16 (note there is no license # as this was in a time period before Perry County utilized a # system)."
