Where he resided continuously untill he enlisted in 1862.
Amos was a member of Co. C.110, O.V.I. He served untill the close of the war. He was promoted to First Lieutenant, till dischaged in July 1865.
He then moved to Glenwood, Iowa with his wife & son George, purchased a farm to work till 1879. when he moved to Shelby Co, Iowa.
Then on to Hartford, S. Dakoda & invested in a new farm.
Amos always took a leading part in public affairs & for years a great Church & Sunday school worker.
He leaves a large cirle of friends & A Member of the I.O.O.F. lodge of which he was a member for nearly 50 years.
