“Born Michele Acardo; he immigrated from Italy in 1911. He lived in the boarding house of August C. Shunk in Schoolcraft Co. Michigan during the 1920 Census taking.
Michael migrated to Saint Helena, Napa, California by 1930, where he boarded with the Oliver E. Manker family. By 1942, he registered for the World War II Draft at Lodi, San Joaquin, California. He was living with the Joe Lema, Sr. family in Lodi and working for Everett McKenzie at the Earl Fruit Co.
He was unmarried and could not read or write.
Michael eventually settled in Placerville and his Social Security Death Index showed his last place of residence as El Dorado County.”
