Marie Allen, 98, of San Angelo, formerly of Winters, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021.

Marie Allen was born to Ezra and Ruby Burkett October 17, 1922 in Winters.

She lived and graduated from Winters. She married Harold Allen in 1942. They lived in several places before returning to Winters in 1968. They had four children: Lynda Blair, Sandra Moore, Joy Brandon, and Rusty Allen.

Marie started working for the Winters Activity Center in 1978 and retired 16 years later in 1994.
She crocheted and made quilts for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a love for baseball and football and kept her loved ones informed.

She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 80 and the Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 1979 and her granddaughter Julie Glenn in 2015.

She is survived by her children: Lynda and Brian Blair of Hermleigh, Sandra Moore and Delton Womack of Lubbock, Joy and Dwayne Brandon of San Angelo, and Rusty and Carmen Allen of Menard. Grandchildren: Dustin and Deanna Moore of Lubbock, Chris Hafer of Wolfford, Brian and Sarah Brandon of Austin, Jacob and Whitney Brandon of San Angelo, Laramie, Dakota and Chisum Allen of Menard. Great grandchildren: Garrett, Kaci and Bella Hayek-Hafer, Cole Moore, Jace Glenn, Slayton and Jackson Brandon.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Wingate Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to your favorite charity.
