Doris Laferne McClure, age 82 of Rover, widow of Ralph W. McClure, passed away on April 24, 2009 in Atlanta, TX. She was born in Des Arc, AR. She was a member of Rover Baptist Church. She attended Cross Pointe Baptist Church until she could no longer attend. Doris was a lifetime member of the V. F. W. Auxiliary Post 8525 at Plainview. She was a song leader at Rover Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearly Kerr and Edgar F. Rochell; her grandparents, Francis French and James I. Kerr, Nancy Ellen Buckalew and Namaviel Rochell; two brothers, Howard and Irvin; six sisters, Lodene, Ida, Loal, Virginia, Janie and Beatrice; and a son-in-law, Tommy Tygart.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, William (Bill and Janet McClure of Springdale, AR and Charles Chuck) McClure of Rover, AR; daughters and son-in-law, Phyllis Tygart of Cabot, Shelia and Joe B. OBryant of Texarkana, TX; one grandson, Jody; five granddaughters, Lisa, Jana, Amanda, Racheal and Katie; four great-grandsons, Mason, Austin, Adin, and Zackery; three great-granddaughters, Kayla, Robin and Hannah; one great-great-grandson, Curz Alexander; one sister, Alma Lois Ricks; one sister-in-law, Ocie Chaney; five step-great grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Sama, Ryan and Kelee; one step-great-great-grandson, Aaron.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 30, 2009 at the Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel in Danville with Rev. Ralph Perry officiating. Burial was in Hunts Chapel Cemetery.
